With a view to keeping educators abreast with the latest techniques in education, the Curriculum Development Unit organized a day-long capacity building workshop for Education Officers. The workshop took place on Tuesday, 12th April, 2022 at the Sunset Shores Conference Room.

Senior Education Officer (Curriculum), Mrs Aldia Gumbs-Dyer, addressed the forum, and noted that, as system leaders, Education Officers must be deeply engaged with the organization of teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment, in order to ensure that learning is personalized for students.

Minister of Education, Hon. Curtis King, keynote speaker at the retreat, said that, though the education system is still grappling with the effects of the Pandemic and the explosive eruption of La Soufriere, the conversation of looking critically at the delivery of education services was started prior to these events.

Professor S. Joel Warrican, virtually delivered a presentation on the topic “Educational Directions and Priorities: Remodeling an Education System that Provides all learners in SVG with Opportunities to Succeed”.

The theme of the exercise was ‘Remodeling Education for Resilience and Sustainability'.
