The Ministry of Education and National Reconciliation in collaboration with Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology and Brock University will deliver the second phase of an in-service training course to system leaders as well as primary and secondary teachers in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
This course is delivered under the Human Development Service Delivery Project (HDSDP), financed by the World Bank. The course would be delivered by a team from Brock University of Canada and local co-facilitators from the Ministry of Education and National Reconciliation. The first pilot was conducted in August of 2021 where thirty educators were trained.
The next cohort will comprise of approximately one hundred educators who will receive training from 11th-14th and 17th April at two locations: The Kingstown Baptist Church and Sunset Shores Hotel in Villa. The participants will be engaged in five days of interactive workshops, aim at improving pedagogical skills and competencies for 21century educators.
The completion of this in-service teacher training workshops will result in increased performance in the teaching and learning process to engender lessons which are specifically tailored to all students to meet their diverse needs.
The Interactive Workshop Sessions will focus on:
- 21st Century Learning and Student Engagement
- Differentiated Instruction and Inclusive Learning
- Growth Mindset and Goal Setting
- Formative Assessment
- Lesson Plans, Individual Coaching and Growth Mindset
All participants will receive a certificate from Brock University, Canada.
