Public servants within the various departments of the Ministry of Education, Teachers, and Students came together to rejoice and sing praises to God for His goodness and mercies in 2018, on the occasion of the annual thanksgiving service.

The service took place at the New Testament Church of God at Wilson Hill and was held under the theme: "Reflect, Rejoice, Give thanks!"

Chairperson, Senior Education Officer (Primary), Yvette Antoine, told the congregation that five years ago, then Minister of Education, Girlyn Miguel, instituted the annual thanksgiving service. Antoine used the opportunity to introduce the new Permanent Secretary (Ag.), Myccle Burke and Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education (Ag.), Elizabeth Walker.

Minister of Education, Hon. St. Clair Prince, stated he was happy to be at the thanksgiving service and to see so many persons in attendance. He wished everyone all the best in 2019.

Minister Prince said a special thank you to Retired Permanent Secretary, Morine Williams and retired Chief Education Officer, Beverly Neptune – two stalwarts who have recently demitted officer. According to Prince, their years of contribution to the education sector in the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines amount to over 70 years.

Senior Education Officer and Bishop, Chesley Ferdinand, delivered the sermon. Bishop Ferdinand stated that the New Testament Church of God Wilson Hill constantly prays for the Ministry of Education. The annual thanksgiving service also included intercessory prayers on behalf of institutions, administration and stakeholders in education.
