The Ministry of Education and National Reconciliation is pleased to announce the grand finale of the Primary Schools Christmas Festival, an event that promises to bring joy and festive cheer.

The grand finale will take place on Wednesday, 13th December, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. at the Faith Temple Church in New Montrose and will feature a display of talent including dance, drama, choral speech and instrumental renditions.

The following schools will be featured in the showcase:

  3. Bequia Anglican Primary
  4. Bequia Seventh Day Adventist Primary
  5. Buccament Government
  6. Calder Government
  7. Calliaqua Anglican
  8. C. W. Prescod Primary
  9. Diamond Government
  10. Dorsetshire Hill Government
  11. Evesham Methodist
  12. Fair Hall Government
  13. Fancy Government
  14. Georgetown Government
  15. Greggs Government
  16. Kingstown Anglican
  17. Langley Park Government
  18. Mustique Primary
  19. Owia Government
  20. Richland Park Government
  21. Sandy Bay Government

Following the performances, the schools with the most outstanding instrumental, choral speech or drama, dance, and original carol will be announced, as well as the school with the best rendition of the test piece. This year, the piece of music that was performed as a standard to test the musical abilities of the choirs was “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, a traditional Christmas carol which speaks of the good news of the Saviour’s birth.

Education Officer for Music in the Ministry of Education, Dexter Bacchus, said: “We are excited to invite the public to join us for the grand finale of the Primary Schools Christmas Festival”.  The grand finale of the Primary Schools Christmas Festival promises to be a joyous experience and the Ministry of Education looks forward to welcoming all to the event.
