The National Accreditation Board in the Ministry of Education launched an Accreditation Awareness Campaign here this week. The campaign is intended to enlighten Vincentians on how to determine which universities and colleges are accredited.
The North Union Secondary has established an extensive skills development centre in woodwork, plumbing and clothing and textile to target students and community members in the North Windward Community.
The project is supporting the Ministry of Education’s mandate to give more focus to tech-vocational skills in schools and is being funded by UNESCO to the tune of 14 thousand US dollars.
Principal of the North Union Secondary School, St. Claire DaSantos said that the project reflects the moral purposes of education and making a difference in the life chances of all students currently enrolled.
The Adult and Continuing Education Division held a National Exhibition in Kingstown yesterday.
This activity forms part of their week of activities which is being held to commemorate UNESCO International Literacy Day, which was observed on September 8th.
Adult and Continuing Education Zonal Coordinator, Leroy Rock said that the exhibition which ran from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. was held at the Alliance Francaise, formerly the Public Library.
He said that yesterday's exhibition featured various aspects of Art and Craft. Mr. Rock said the afternoon held one of the highlights of their week of activities which was an Educational Consultation that began at 4:30 p.m.
He said this program was held at the Youth Affairs Conference Room and sought to assist the nation’s youths with further developing their educational accomplishments.
