The SVG Community College will hold a poster session of its Summer Science Research Program on “Plant-Derived Anticancer Agents” sponsored by UNESCO. This is the culmination of a six-week program in which second year students in Chemistry and Biology were engaged in identifying and classifying additional medicinal plants of SVG, extracting the active medicinal components from some of these plants such as Soursop and screening the extracts as potential anticancer agents by their effect on bacteria. Come and see what our second year students have accomplished.
The poster session will take place at the SVG Community College Chemistry and Biology Laboratories at Villa Flat on Friday, August 23, 2013 between 12.00 p.m. and 4.30 pm. The general public is invited.
