Seven Primary School Pupils were scheduled to compete in the finals of the Annual Primary Schools Reading Competition slated forTuesday 23rd October.
The seven finalists include Laron Jones from the Questelles Primary School, Jemelia Thomas from the Peters Vale Primary School, Bethany Triminigham from the Mustique Primary School, Xenique Daize from the St. Mary’s Primary School, Kemmi-Ann Roberts from the Fancy Primary School, Jerona Mapp from the Stubbs Primary School and K’eresa Lai from the Kingstown Preparatory School.
The competition is organized by Courts St. Vincent Limited and is being held under the theme: Investing in our nation’s children”.
The final was scheduled for Frenches House from 9:30 a.m.,while the regional Final is slated for November 15th in Dominica.
Last year’s winner was Solange Compton from the Kingstown Preparatory school.

The Ministry of Education held a ceremony for the presentation of over three hundred Taiwan scholarships.
The scholarships were awarded to students at the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels.
One hundred and eighty-seven Primary School pupils received awards, one-hundred and twenty-nine Secondary School Students and sixty-five post secondary students.
Head Teachers and Senior Teachers from across the country will be involved in training workshops on Instructional Leadership from this week. A release from the Ministry of Education says during the sessions, participants will look at the Role and Process of School Inspection.
They will also be guided towards the development of a structured system of Monitoring and Supervision for their individual schools.The workshops will be held from October 8th to 12th and 15th to 19th.
The sessions will be held at Frenches House from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.
