The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines National Accreditation Board (NAB) with support from the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) will host the 17th annual CANQATE conference from Thursday 28th to Friday 29th October, 2021.

CANQATE is the Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education. CANQATE’s annual conferences are geared towards enhancing the competencies of its members, through structured engagements. The SVG National Accreditation Board (NAB), has been a member of CANQATE over the last decade.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was due to host the annual conference last year. However, this was postponed as a result of the COVID pandemic. The NAB and the ACTT have collaborated to host an online version of the conference under the theme Higher Education: Quality Standards and the Global Higher Education Market in Response to Force Majeure.

Pro Vice Chancellor and Chair, Board for Undergraduate Studies Vincentian Professor Justin Carl Robinson will be the featured speaker. Chairman of the National Accreditation Board Dr. Rosalind Ambrose and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Mr. Myccle Burke will address the opening session.

The respective sessions will be chaired by Director of the SVGCC Mr. Nigel Scott, Senior Education Officers Dr. Trisha-Ann Job-Moses, Dr. Idelia Ferdinand, and Mrs. Eslyn Thomas. Retired Senior Education Officer Edlena Adams and CEO of the School of Continuing Education Mrs. Sylvia Gould will serve as Rapporteurs.
