Residents of Sandy Bay and surrounding areas are invited to a public consultation on Tuesday, 25th August, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the Sandy Bay Government School to help shape the future of the new Sandy Bay Secondary School.
The session offers parents, teachers, students, community leaders, and local residents an opportunity to share insights on the ideal location and the academic offerings for the school. The stakeholders will also have the chance to ask questions and receive updates on the development project.
The consultation forms part of the School Improvement Project, a Caribbean Development Bank (CDB)-funded initiative aimed at improving and strengthening school infrastructure across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The project has a total budget of EC$73 million and includes the renovation of eight schools and the construction of one. The eight schools targeted for renovation under the project are:
- Barrouallie Government School (complete)
- Barrouallie Anglican School (complete)
- Charles Adams Anglican High School (complete)
- St. Clair Dacon Secondary School (complete)
- St. Vincent Grammar School (complete)
- Kingstown Anglican School (being finalized - to be completed by September 2026)
- St. Vincent Girls’ High School (work in progress - to be completed by August 2027)
- Thomas Saunders Secondary School (starting work in September 2026)
The Sandy Bay Secondary School is the lone facility to be constructed under the project.
