As preparation shifts into high gear for the upcoming Caribbean Association of Home Economists (CAHE) 26th Biennial Conference, a 15-member delegation of executive members of CAHE is visiting Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday, October 9th, 2026, to advance planning for the regional event.

The visit features a packed itinerary designed to align regional and local organizing teams. The delegation will hold a dedicated executive meeting and sit down with the local planning committee at the conference venue, the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC), at 3:00 p.m. Additionally, members will evaluate proposed facilities and map out logistics for conference activities. Discussions will focus heavily on finalizing committee plans, organizing upcoming fundraising initiatives, and coordinating overall arrangements.

The conference is scheduled for March 21-24, 2027, and will be held under the theme: “Caribbean Home Economists Shaping the Future: Tackling Overconsumption for Sustainable Living.” The theme underscores the vital role home economists play in encouraging responsible consumer behaviour and championing sustainable living practices across the region.

This momentum builds on strong local engagement. The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Home Economics Association (SVGHEA) recently hosted a robust planning meeting attended by twenty-eight (28) current and retired home economics teachers and professionals. That session successfully updated members on conference preparations, brainstormed fundraising strategies, and streamlined the division of labour across local planners.

As countdown preparations continue, the collaboration between the CAHE executive and local stakeholders promises an impactful conference that will highlight Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on the regional stage.
